Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker Review- A Must- Have Coffee Maker!

After using a thermal carafe coffee maker at work for a couple of years, I finally decided I had to have one of my own. It was one of the few things I had put on my Christmas list for 2012 and luckily, Santa brought me black and stainless steel Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker.  Okay, so it wasn't Santa, it was my sweet father-in-law, but I got one either way.

At first, I was a little worried and felt bad that he may have paid a small fortune for the coffee maker, though I had thoroughly expressed that while I would love to have a thermal carafe, I didn't want anyone spending $100-250 for one! That is just an absurd amount to pay for a coffee maker when you can get a basic on for around $10-15. Yes, they aren't as nice, but hey- it still does the job! I was shocked to find out that he paid less than $75, especially with all the features. Now that it's a few years old, it's even cheaper than that!

Unlike regular glass coffee pots that come with most coffee makers, thermal carafes keep the coffee hot for several hours without having to pop it back in the microwave or worrying about it turning into Mississippi Mud after the water evaporates. Also, it doesn't have a lower burner so there's no need to worry all day about whether or not you turned the coffee pot off. It also means no hot coffee pots or burners to worry about the kids touching! {See, safety... another reason it's so great!}

My Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker Review

So, how did this unbelievably cheap thermal carafe coffee maker turn out? I mean after all, it's nearly half the price of the cheapest ones I had been looking at... Well, I love it! It has the the quality and all the features that usually only come with the fancy-shmancy, high-dollar coffee makers. I can honestly recommend the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker to anyone looking for a great coffee pot in general, especially one that is cheap and includes a thermal carafe.

As you can see from the specs I listed above, the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker is great. I especially like the fact that I can make a pot of coffee and it stays hot for at least 10-12 hours! I can make a fresh pot of coffee in the morning around 5:30 am and it's still hot when I get home at 6:00 pm.

Since the carafe is vacuum insulated and sealed off, I don't have to worry about the water evaporating and making it taste like mud, and since there are no burners to keep it hot, I don't have to worry about it tasting over-brewed. Even at the end of the day, it still tastes just as fresh as when it was brewed earlier in the morning.

The self-cleaning feature is another thing I love about my thermal coffee maker! We have city water and though it doesn't taste bad like some of the bigger cities I have visited, the chlorine still takes it's toll on my dishwasher, and other water-using appliances. Within a couple months of use I can always see the white build up of the chlorine on the elements. Not the case with this coffee maker. It usually signals me by lighting of the Clean light about a week or so before it requires me to clean it before it will brew. To clean, simply fill it with water and hit the Clean button. It will go into clean mode which usually takes 30-45 minutes and let me tell you, the thing gets hot! You can see minimal steam escaping but, when you go to pour out the used water, it is PIPING HOT! I like the idea that it is able to soak all the tubes and components in hot water to sterilize and remove any build up. Before, cleaning my old coffee makers meant smelling the house up by running a little bit of vinegar through the machine and then 3-5 rounds of water before it got the taste out! Not the case here, since it only uses super hot water!

Of course I could have posted this review a while ago but I waited, and waited, and waited some more, to make sure that it would last. I like to make sure the products that I recommend are going to last and be well-worth the money spent in case of you {my readers} decide to make a purchase. Since I only post positive reviews, if I try a product and don't like it and/or would not recommend it, I simply don't post about it. *If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, right?* Well, it's been almost a year and half since I received my Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker as a gift and, I have not had any problems at all. No leaks, no drips, no cracks, no cold coffee, no messes, you name it... it's been great!

I would strongly recommend the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker for anyone who would like a safer, more efficient coffee maker that will keep your coffee hot for hours! The Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker has a list price of $89.99but is available multiple online stores for around $60- $110. The cheapest place I have seen it so far is at Amazon.com for around $59.00 with free shipping! Since they have multiple retailers on Amazon, the competition is higher and that means lower prices. :)
