Old Fashioned Movie Review & Trailer | Christian Romance #OLDFASHIONEDMOVIE

Like me, many of you have been anticipating the release of the new movie, Old Fashioned, that was released today! I was lucky enough to work with the promotion agency for both the movie and the book to get a head start and find out what the hype was really all about in order to bring you my Old Fashioned  movie review. Be sure to check out the trailer below, too!

Old Fashioned Movie

A romantic-drama, OLD FASHIONED centers on Clay Walsh, a former frat boy who gives up his reckless carousing and now runs an antique shop in a small Midwestern college town. There, he has become notorious for his lofty and outdated theories on love and romance as well as for his devout belief in God. When Amber Hewson, a free-spirited young woman with a restless soul, drifts into the area and rents the apartment above his shop, she finds herself surprisingly drawn to his strong faith and noble ideas, which are new and intriguing to her. And Clay, though he tries to fight and deny it, simply cannot resist being attracted to her spontaneous and passionate embrace of life.
Ultimately, Clay must step out from behind his relational theories and Amber must overcome her own fears and deep wounds as the two of them, together, attempt the impossible: an "old-fashioned" and God-honoring courtship in contemporary America.

DVD Releases on June 16, 2015 115 minutes

My Old Fashioned Movie Review

Wow, just when I thought I couldn't possibly add another favorite to my movie list, the Old Fashioned movie has taken me by surprise. I received a copy of the Old Fashioned Movie and the Old Fashioned book , along with a copy of The Old Fashioned Way: Reclaiming the Lost Art of Romance Devotional, in exchange for an honest review.... and needless to say, I am so glad I accepted the opportunity.

Regardless of the weather, the season, or the laundry piling up in the other room, I am a sucker for a quiet day with a great love story, especially a movie. And, 'a great love story' is just what I received.

Since I agreed to share my Old Fashioned movie review prior to the book review which, comes later this month, I decided to go ahead and read the book first and then watch the movie to prevent any spoilers in the book. Not only could I not put the book down, I couldn't walk away from the movie - even though I knew what was going to happen after reading the book. It IS that GOOD!

One of the things I enjoyed most about the movie (and the main point of the story) is that the writers recognize the fact that courtship is perfectly acceptable, even in these days, prior to making hot and heavy moves (work with me ladies, this is a family blog!).

To avoid any spoilers I won't go in-depth into the movie plot and scenes to but, I will say that not only is it well-written (directed, produced, ect) but, the characters are very realistic. No snazzy billionaires falling in love with a college girl in this movie. Instead, these are your every day people, living in a small town, working day to day to make a pay check and, getting by the best they know how. All of which, have a few skeletons and a sinful past that they are trying to overcome. Stuff that you and I can relate to.

The characters are not only funny, witty and realistic but, the emotions are so heartfelt that you will end up crying with them, smiling with them and getting butterflies while dancing with Mr. Clay Walsh.

Best of all, not only is it a great movie in general but, as a rarity these days- it doesn't include any foul language or inappropriate scenes. In a gist- it's safe to watch with grandma or the preacher's wife, and yet, is still an awesome movie!

If you enjoy a good romance, you will L-O-V-E the Old Fashioned Movie! You can pick up a copy starting today on Pure Flix / ChristianBook.com website or on Amazon.com. It is also available on Amazon Instant Download for those of you who don't want to wait! :)
