Review of Korie Robertson's New Book - STRONG and KIND: And Other Important Character Traits Your Child Needs to Succeed

Duck Dynasty is not only one of my favorite shows (because I love to hunt) but, the Robertson's are one of my favorite families on TV!

Unlike many of the families you see in today's reality shows, the Robertson's are one of the few families that still let their faith and values take priority over fame and fortune. With that said, I am happy to share Korie Robertson's new book, STRONG and KIND: And Other Important Character Traits Your Child Needs to Succeed.

Plus, you can enter win a copy for yourself by entering the giveaway below!

About STRONG and KIND

Duck Dynasty Books
In her new book STRONG and KIND: And Other Important Character Traits Your Child Needs to Succeed, Korie Robertson - New York Times bestselling author, wife of Duck Commander® CEO Willie Robertson, star of A&E's Duck Dynasty, and mother of five - argues that developing good character in our children is the single most important thing we can do to help ensure they lead happy, healthy adult lives. Robertson explores key traits and what they truly look like in action, asks readers to select the two traits that they hope to see most in their children, and shares hands-on ways for nurturing strength of character. Written with her mother Chrys Howard and featuring stories and wisdom from husband Willie, STRONG and KIND cuts through the contemporary cacophony of parenting manuals to rediscover, unfold, and embrace the enduring wisdom that has guided the best parents for centuries.

Hardcover; 240 pages Publisher: Harper Collins Christian Publishing (October 27, 2015)

My Review

I have always been a huge fan of Duck Dynasty! Rarely do you find a show on TV these days that is not only family-friendly but, holds strong to their values and keeps it clean- yet, they're still entertaining! (Seriously who can watch Phil and Uncle Si and not laugh?) Not to mention, they put God first, family second and career/business last.

With all of that said, being a fan of Duck Dynasty, I was thrilled to receive Korie Robertson's new book, STRONG and KIND: And Other Important Character Traits Your Child Needs to Succeed, in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book and believe that it would be a great resource for any parent; new, old or expecting. Korie and Chrys did a fabulous job with making writing this book in a away that it easy to understand and relate to, while packed full of great recommendations on how to raise your child to not only have great character but, to also succeed in life socially and physically.

Some of the many character traits this books teaches you how to instill in your child include:

  • Self-Control
  • Honesty
  • Compassion
  • Patience
  • Joyfulness
  • Loyalty
  • Humility
I do think it's important to mention that this book not only helps you teach your child these traits but, will help you better yourself by utilizing many of the recommendations on how YOU should be acting in order to expect your child to do the same. It's one of those lead by example type of recommendations that will not only better your children but, also so yourself and your family as a whole.
